safety tips seniors

• Set Passwords - make them long (phrases or sentences) that mix uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols. Change them regularly.
• Watch out for scams - the bank will never email and ask that you click a link to update your password or to confirm your information. Do not reply.
• Don’t click the link - Be cautious about downloading attachments and about clicking links in emails — even if you know the sender. They could contain a virus.
• Use social media more safely - Use the privacy settings online. Don’t post sensitive information that may indicate to burglars when you’re not home.
• Defend your computer - Keep all software current with automatic updating. Install legitimate antivirus and antispyware software. Use flash drives cautiously.
• Contact the Police– use the reporting link on the www.Cybertips.bm to anonymously alert the police of any suspected scam targeting you or someone you know.
